Tag cloud generation

Please insert here your paragraph to generate tag cloud.
For each word in tag cloud you need to decide if it is a good marker:
1. Will this word remind you the details you want to remember?
2. Is this word specific enough?
3. Can you generate a good visual marker for this word?
Please notice that if you do not like my tool, you can always use Wordclouds.

  1. Clarification to my previous post. I read the text…generate cloud…evaluate the words. If I cant recall the context of how or where a word was used from the pasted text, I review the pasted text. I do this until I can recall any word from the cloud. After a month of this technique (my reading comprehension/absorption was far below normal), important words seem to bubble up from the cloud. The important words and my recollection of their reference are starting to come easily.

  2. This was a very absract for me at first. After spending a month on it, it’s become a golden tool for me. I paste 2 to 3 (at most 3!!) sentences and read. Then generate the cloud.. I look at all the words in the cloud and then see if I can recall the words and most importantly (this is just me), how they impacted the pasted text. Umportant words seem to bubble up automatically!!

  3. This is connected to the masterclass and doesn’t really make sense unless you’ve heard that explanation.

One way to use it is to paste in a bit of text and then a word cloud will appear, showing (algorithmically) the most important words in the text. (It’s done by a computer so it may be wrong.)

The idea, or at least how I use it, is to look at those main words and see 1) you have markers for them and 2) if your markers are good/distinct/clear enough.

  4. I think most people are confused about what this tool is for. And I can see why. The explanation given isn’t clear at all. The only reason I know what to do is because I was linked here from the Superlearner course.

  5. What am i supposed to do with this? I got no clue what to do.

For each word in tag cloud you need to decide if it is a good marker:
    1. Will this word remind you the details you want to remember?

Do i make the words up? For what? What words for what purpose?
And the words need to be markers for what exactly? There is only a blank space and no purpose. I have absolutely no clue what i am supposed to do at all.

    2. Is this word specific enough?

    Specific enough for what??

    3. Can you generate a good visual marker for this word?
So first i need to think of a random word and then i need to make a visual marker for it? So i am the 20 word generator myself?

    1. I think you mixed between two different things.

Some people get overwhelmed by articles and cannot choose specific words out of it. This is a helper tool, to guide you. In no way it can replace your ability to analyze content.

You should insert content and the tool will generate a cloud of words for you. That’s it. No guessing, no random words. Please use http://www.keytostudy.com/20-random-words-generator/ for that.

  6. Hi Dr Lev
This is just so natural for me. I didn’t understand what I was doing at first. Then from the tag cloud after inserting a paragraph and another sentence, I realized I have been creating visual markers for words all along. Its what i have been doing to memorize words.,.

  7. Hi Dr. Lev,

So would I want to consider highlighting these markers in my text (if I was reading physical material)? Is this an exercise to make sure I am picking up the right key words as a marker? Is there any significance to the size or colors of the words?

    Thank you!

    1. (1) yes, you can highlight (2) yes, it is helping (3) the size signifies the chance of being a valid marker, the color is for fun

  8. The sentence “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” contains every letter of the alphabet.
Copy and paste to see what markers get created and compare to the original sentence.

  9. Some text works some other work better, If you are seeing something weird that does not make sense, then just try a different text.. Im pulling some texts out of Wikipedia.

      1. Some people do not know which words to select for mental markers. This is just one way of getting the task done by a computer to get some sort of reference.

          1. We read words and these words become images…. If you cannot focus on reasonable words you will not get reasonable images.
